Independent living for seniors in Sri Lanka, caters to those who are able to live independently. In independent living retirement communities, the care recipient has full choice and control over all aspects of his or her life such as bathing, dressing, being mentally alert, having bowel and bladder control, and being able to walk.
La Serena, offers a maintenance-free lifestyle with numerous amenities and luxury services to fit your every need and want. The Facility provides residents with convenient access to residential units, custom-designed meal packages, recreational facilities, entertainment and more. For an independent living lifestyle at La Serena, we focus on your comfortable lifestyle and offer residents a safe living environment with hospitality services, such as housekeeping, room service, and laundry.

Trained caregivers provide individualized assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, monitoring medications and other activities of daily living. Staffed on a 24-hour basis, La Serena’s Assisted Living care features two options that vary based on the degree of assistance required. Housing units can be modified for Assisted Living when your care needs change, this ensures a hassle-free and comfortable transition from independent to assisted living.
Low-Level Assistance
This level of care is best suited for our members who are independent in most of their activities of daily living without helper assistance, but require assistive modifications to their units, like grab bars, railings and walkers for limited mobility assistance. Members in low-level assistance are able to use the resort’s outdoor facilities, library and restaurant independently.

• Walk in showers with a chair for sitting, wheel chair accommodation to the shower enabling direct transfer to a chair.
• Sprayer attachment for the shower head.
• Raising the height of the commode.

High- Level Assistance
In addition to the modified living experience for assistance, caring attention of our staff will be available for members who require high-level assistance. This support level includes a helper who can assist with daily activities like washing, feeding and traveling within the resort. Assistance will also be provided at the outdoor facilities, library and restaurant.
